Quality Assurance Analyst
So, first I had this two hour phone interview thingy where I had to do some math, SQL, and finance questions. It was on CodingHire. About two weeks later, I got moved to a new stage. This time it was a Cisco WebEx interview, with two separate one-hour panels. In those, I had to solve logic puzzles and do some tricky stuff in Excel, like using vlookup on spreadsheets. The last interview was set up the same as the one before it. They gave me a program about grading and asked me to find bugs and other problems with it. After that, there was more SQL querying and some coding using Blockly.
- How would you identify the heavier ball out of eight using a weighing scale?
- Can you explain the distinction between a stock and a bond?
- If you want to lend money such that the total amount repaid after one year (principal plus interest) is $1000, how much should you lend initially? How would this change for a two-year or three-year loan?
QA Analyst
So I applied and got 2 interviews. The first interview consisted of analytical questions, and I answered them all correctly with good explanations. Then they invited me for the second interview. In the second interview, they tested my Excel skills (VLookup) and my software testing skills. I have a Master's in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and double majored in Applied Math and Statistics with a minor in Computer Science in my undergrad. After all these interviews, they said they had to proceed with other candidates. I suspect I was rejected because I am an international candidate. If you're an international candidate, do not apply to this company. Their staff is pretty white. They are RACISTS.
- Could you explain how to use VLookup?
Quality Analyst
First, there was an online test with 5 questions that I did by myself. Then, I had a phone call with an HR recruiter where they asked me 3 questions. I also had the chance to ask them questions about the company after. After that, I had a 2-hour video interview with two different groups. They wanted to see how I think and solve problems. They asked some basic excel questions. Then, I had another 2-hour video interview with two more teams. This time, they asked harder brain teaser questions and some beginner to intermediate SQL questions. I didn't get an offer for QA, but they did offer me a position in Client Services for the same pay, which I took.
