I sent in my resume and had an internal contact forward it to the hiring manager. About three weeks later, they reached out for a phone interview. The call went well, and I was eager to proceed. Next, they assigned me a test project that involved creating wireframes and writing essay responses to several questions. I put a lot of work into this project, so it was disappointing to be ghosted after submitting it. I would have preferred a rejection email. When I followed up with the recruiter, they said they received it and would be in touch, but I never heard back. Companies that don't follow up with candidates who invested time lose my respect. It's professional to follow up, even with a generic rejection notice.

I was contacted by a recruiter to schedule a phone screen. The recruiter was friendly, made me feel comfortable right away on the phone. She seemed like she cared about my goals and career. After the phone screen I was sent a test project with a deadline, nothing scary, it took me a few hours to complete. When I submitted the test project I was contacted the next day to set up a zoom interview. It was a standard interview, the hiring manager was great at explaining the role and what they're looking for. The interview process took about two weeks. Overall it was a positive experience, everyone I interacted with was friendly and made this process go smoothly despite Covid-19.

The interview process was pretty quick, which is nice because usually hiring takes ages. The interviews themselves took a few hours but they scheduled it nicely. There was a pre-screen phone chat and then a one-on-one. Plus, there was a group interview too. Everyone was really chill and friendly, and even though it was long, it felt like a good use of time.
