The interview process moved quickly and was very efficient. It started with a 30-minute recruiter call, followed by a 1-hour tech screen where I had to solve a simple coding problem with an engineer. The final round was a 4-hour interview session that included two technical parts (one coding problem, one data modeling problem), an HR behavioral session, and an engineering leadership behavioral session. The recruiter was always on top of things and responded quickly.

Behavioral Technical

This was the worst phone screen I've ever had. The interviewer seemed unprepared and kept interrupting me to type out stuff that was already on my resume, even though they said they had it. They also didn't like parts of my resume, which is weird since they reached out to me. I could barely get a sentence out before being interrupted, so I couldn't really explain anything. The interviewer implied that Clearcover values loyalty and that excessive overtime should be fine, so I decided to withdraw my application.

  • What are your reasons for leaving previous employment?
  • Tell me about your motivations for working overtime.

Technical Behavioral

Had a 30 min phone screening first. Then, a 1.5 hr technical and behavioral interview. The first hour was a technical interview with 2 associate SWEs where they were helpful in guiding me and I could explain my problem-solving. The last 30 min was a behavioral interview with the engineering manager. For the behavioral part, I had to explain a project I did in detail and answer questions about it.
