First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clay County District Schools.
Program Analyst
It was a quick, on-site interview. The questions were to the point. There was a long wait to hear back, but once things got moving, it was fine. There was a drug test and fingerprinting as part of the pre-employment process. Communication was maintained throughout.
- Could you explain SQL joins?
- How would you remove duplicates using SQL?
Principal's Secretary
It was a two-step process. First, I met with the assistant principal. Then, I was called back to meet with the principal. Both interviews involved hypothetical 'what if' scenarios and discussions about my previous experience with bookkeeping and financial management.
- How would you handle a situation where a colleague asks for sensitive information?
- Tell me about your past experience with bookkeeping.
- Can you share your experience handling financial tasks in previous roles?
Student Assistant
It was a long process where I was asked a bunch of questions and given tests and exams to see how I compared to other student assistants. They'll reject you if you don't pass, but you can always try again.
- Do you have reliable transportation to and from work?
Teacher
I interviewed with a group of teachers, assistant principals, and the principal. They asked a lot of questions about teamwork, managing a classroom, how familiar I am with the curriculum, and what my weaknesses are. It took them over a month to let me know how I did.
- What do you think your biggest hurdle would be in this role?
