The first step was a phone call with a really nice and helpful interviewer. They started by discussing the company and the kind of person they're looking for. Then, they asked some basic questions and let me know I'd have a tech assessment next. The tech assessment was a Python coding exam split into three parts, with a 90-minute time limit. I found it tough to complete everything within the time, so I didn't finish the last section.

So I got sent this HackerRank test after they reviewed my resume, and I had a week to finish it. It only had two questions, which I thought was weird because they were pretty hard, like Leetcode medium-hard level. It just doesn't make sense to me that they'd use these kinds of questions to test a Data Scientist. Even Software Engineer tests aren't usually this tough. If you really want to work there, I guess practice your algorithm questions, but honestly, I wouldn't bother with this company. There are other places that ask more relevant questions and actually respect your time.

It was a pretty good and thorough process. They first sent a link for a coding assignment. After that, I had an interview with their senior data scientist. They mostly asked about my education and projects, but then really dug into them. They wanted to know why I chose certain models and hyperparameter values, what challenges I encountered, and how I automated the scripts. It was actually fun to discuss these things rather than just textbook theories.
