I applied online and was contacted by HR to schedule an interview. They asked a few screening questions, the main one being about salary. I said £30K, which was what I made in a similar role. They responded with an offer of £28K plus 25% OTE. I then asked how the OTE was structured, what typical target completion rates are for starters, and if remote work was allowed during probation. My questions were ignored. This really showed their approach to 'Talent Management' and their company culture. After waiting a few days, I sent a final message expressing my disappointment with the lack of professionalism, the unanswered questions about earnings and hybrid work, and how it reflected poorly on the company culture. I stated that the industry seems exploitative and not attractive for MBA graduates, and that they should reconsider their 'Talent Management' approach.

Behavioral Presentation

Started off good, got positive feedback from the line manager and a senior leader in the first two rounds. After that, I was told I made it to the final stage. But then, they said company policy needed two candidates, and since I was the only one, they had to start over to find another finalist. I was promised a date for the final in-person interview soon. Waiting two months with hardly any updates, I finally heard they'd filled the position, with no explanation for the delay. The lack of clarity and slow communication was unprofessional and disappointing for a company this size.

First, I submitted my application for the Credit Controller role via Clarion Events' online portal. Then, I got an email for an initial screening call with HR to discuss my background, skills, and why I applied. After passing that, I had my first interview with the HR and Finance teams where we talked about my education, work history, and company culture. Next, I did a technical assessment to show my credit control skills, including analyzing situations and using relevant tools. I then moved on to the second interview with the Departmental Head or Senior Management, where we went deeper into my credit control experience, focusing on risk management, compliance, and relationships. This was followed by a behavioral interview where I shared stories from previous jobs about handling challenges, teamwork, and tricky credit situations. They also did a reference check by contacting my previous employers and contacts. Finally, I had a final interview with an executive or senior leader to see how my skills fit with Clarion Events' big-picture goals and values.

Behavioral Technical Other

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn, which kicked off the interview process. First, there was a phone screen with the recruiter in week 1. Then, I interviewed with the team manager in the first half of week 2. The second half of week 2 involved a test or assessment focused on detail orientation and floorplan knowledge. Finally, I had an interview with the team director in week 3. The questions were pretty standard, with a few that really made me think. It was a pleasant experience overall. The recruiter, Roxy Flack, was super helpful. She guided me through the process, prepped me for interviews, answered all my questions about hiring, and included me in emails with the team and HR later on. She was great!
