First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Clariant.
Chemist
It seemed pretty standard but there was one interviewer who came across as a jerk and asked/assumed things that should have been irrelevant for the position I was interviewing. Overall the treatment from this particular interviewer was what I would consider uncalled for and yet he is very high up in the company.
- Were you financially independent?
- What car did you drive?
- What is your relationship status?
Chemist
I had an onsite interview that lasted about 10 hours total. It included a 1-hour presentation to a panel of my peers, and I met with 12 different people. I also had a one-on-one with the CEO of the site. They took me on tours of various sites, and I had lunch with some senior executives. I met with all the relevant department managers for individual interviews. They reimbursed me for travel. I really liked the interview process and felt respected the whole time.
- What is your desired salary?
Chemist
I got multiple emails saying Clariant wasn't moving forward with my application and it's unprofessional. One email is enough. Recruiters should take their jobs more seriously or keep better track of what they're doing.
