Store Manager
I sent my application by email. We had an interview at a store in the mall. The interview felt really good, though it was a bit tough to focus sometimes because of all the mall noise (I have ADHD). The district manager was really nice though. We talked for a long time and could tell it was going well. I had plenty of experience and handled all the questions easily. The questions were pretty standard, nothing really stood out. It wasn't overly difficult either. She did compliment my necklace later on, so I'd suggest dressing stylishly but neatly and wearing some nice, fashionable jewelry that matches your outfit.
- What's your approach to handling challenging customers?
- What prompted your departure from your previous role?
Store Manager
I submitted my application online and heard back from the District Manager about a week later. She did a quick phone chat with me right then about why I wanted to work there, what I was currently doing, and why I was looking to leave my current job. We then scheduled an interview for later that week. On the morning of the interview, she reached out because she had an unexpected issue at one of her stores and offered to either reschedule or have me interview with a Store Manager who trained all the managers. I agreed, so I had a 20-minute interview with another manager. It was very basic questions like 'Tell me about a time when...' related to customer service and managing employees. A few days later, I had a brief and informal interview with the DM. I then had to complete an online personality test. After that, I was offered the job.
- What is your weakest skill?
Store Manager
It was a really chill interview. They asked some management-related questions and about how I handle difficult coworkers and customers. They wanted to hear about my past work experiences. They also asked about my goals and why I'm interested in the company. A specific question was about my thoughts on ear piercing and piercing customers in the store. The interviewer was super outgoing and nice.
- Have you worked with difficult people or coworkers before?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult coworker.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer.
