It was pretty chill, just some basic questions about how to give good customer service. They asked me to pick out some things I'd suggest and do a sales pitch. It was in the back room and didn't take long, maybe 10 mins.

You can apply in store for sales assistant or supervisor positions. First, you'll have a telephone interview that takes about 10 minutes. They'll ask you to 'Tell me about yourself?' (previous/current work or studying?), checking if you're flexible and why Claire's should choose you, what experience you have for the role, and what 3 words your friends would use to describe you (they're looking for driven & enthusiastic). They'll also ask if you can work over 7 days, including xmas & New Year. Then, you'll be invited for an interview with the store manager, which usually takes around 30 minutes. Make sure to dress fashionably, wear lots of jewellery, and know what's on trend. You'll fill out an application form and then be asked scripted questions like 'What do you know about Claire's?' (Do your research!), 'Why do you want to work there?', 'What skills & experience can you add to this position?', 'What is your understanding of excellent customer service?', 'Where have you received this & why was is so great?', 'Are you willing be Ear pierced trained?' (Yes is the only acceptable answer, as they make a lot of money from ear piercing.), 'Name a time when you were in a situation where it was difficult to communicate with someone?', 'What was the outcome?', 'What is your availability?', and 'Do you have any up coming holidays?'

We had a group interview with 8 people around a table. The interviewer asked questions, and whoever had their hand up could answer. We went around the table and introduced ourselves. Then, we had to do a role play with another person where one person played the shop assistant and another person came in saying, "Hi, I'm looking for stuff for my stag party." The person playing the shop assistant had to pick out items for her.
