It was one interview and then HR confirmed my interest. After that there was a background check. There was a long wait and then no information. They lied and said the position was on hold when I reached out. Turns out it has been filled by other candidates. The lack of communication from HR was staggering.

The process description is not very clear. It is suggested that a 5-member interview board would have been better for scoring rather than 4. The scoring system was not explained. Questions were asked in a round-robin format. The questions asked were pertinent to the job. No follow-up questions were asked based on my answers. Only one panel member seemed to fully grasp the job requirements. I was the last candidate to be interviewed. The interview panel gave off a vibe of just going through the motions, showing no enthusiasm from the moment I walked in.

I chatted with HR first, which was pretty smooth. Then I had two interviews. The first was with a panel of four police officers, and the second was with two of them. They asked me standard questions about my experience and how it fit the role, and if I knew what the job entailed.
