Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Citicorp Services India.
Intern
The interview process was resume and personality based. It included 3 rounds: an online test, a technical interview, and an HR interview. The online test was easy, featuring MCQs on CS core subjects, aptitude, and 2 coding questions. The coding questions were also easy. Around 30 people were shortlisted for the 2 available roles.
- Given your ECE background, why are you interested in a software role?
Intern
The interview process was based solely on my resume. They asked about every part of my resume. In the technical interview, I was asked to write a sorting algorithm. I wrote merge sort on paper and explained its workings with an example. They inquired about my projects and the tech stacks I utilized. My communication was noted positively as I was well-prepared. The technical round took 25 minutes for me, longer than the typical 15 minutes for others. The HR interview consisted of general conversation about my school studies and similar topics. Unfortunately, I didn't succeed in the HR interview.
- Could you explain a sorting algorithm?
- Tell me about your projects and the technologies you used.
- What can you tell me about your school studies?
Intern
The interview process had two rounds. Round-1 was a 2.5-hour long session with 4 sections: 35 C/C++/Java questions (your choice), several aptitude questions, several logical reasoning questions, and several other verbal aptitude questions. Each section had its own time limit. Round-2 involved 2 coding questions. One was to implement Shortest Job First scheduling in C++, and the other was to check if a graph is a tree using an adjacency matrix.
- The time constraint for the aptitude questions was very limited.
