First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Citicorp Services India.
Technology Analyst
The whole interview had 3 rounds. First was a technical interview, with questions about my resume, moving file contents, and Python lists vs tuples. Second, another technical interview asking how to calculate monthly/yearly profit, average/highest/smallest/greatest profit, and what data structure to use. Lastly, an HR interview with resume questions, asking about my preferred domain, and if I had any questions for them.
- Explain the logic and thinking process for calculating monthly and yearly profits, including average, highest, smallest, and greatest profits. What data structure would you choose to store this information?
- Could you explain how you would transfer file contents from one file to another?
- What is the difference between a list and a tuple in Python?
Technology Analyst
The interview involved assessing logical ability, verbal ability in English, and computer science subjects like C, C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, DBMS, OS, and Networks. There were also 2 coding questions, multiple choice, covering topics such as OOPS concepts, the stability and time complexities of sorting algorithms, basic output questions, and the fundamentals of stacks, queues, and trees.
- Can you define what an algorithm is, what a data structure is, and what LIFO and FIFO mean?
- What can you tell me about binary trees and their different types?
- Could you implement a binary tree traversal using C++?
IT Analyst
First, there was an online test with aptitude questions (Quant, English) and programming questions (2 easy array manipulation questions, similar to CodeChef easy level). Then, there were 2 interview rounds. Round 1 covered 'Tell me about yourself', 'Tell me about your B. Tech project', preferred programming language (I chose Java), and definitions of 'Overloading of function', 'synchronization', 'serialization', plus Database Management questions like 'normalization' and 'data tables'. Round 2 involved puzzles and typical HR questions. Even though I didn't solve two questions, I think I communicated well about my projects and hard work.
- Using mathematical operators between the numbers 3, 1, 3, and 6, can you reach the answer 8?
