First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Citibank.
Business Analyst Intern
The interview was online. The interviewer started by introducing himself and then asked me about the subjects I had studied. He also asked me to code a prime number finder for numbers 1-100 and asked about basic computer science concepts. It felt like an easy interview, but since it was my first, I wasn't very confident and stumbled a lot, which led to poor communication.
- Could you tell me about the three kinds of Linked Lists?
Technology Analyst
So for the Technology Analyst job at Citi, it started with this Plum Discovery Survey, which was more about my personality and how I think than actual coding skills. After that, there was a technical screen where they really focused on Data Structures and SQL. Then came the HireVue, where I had to record myself answering questions like 'Why Citi?'. This part was a bit weird but good for practicing how to talk about why I want to work there, especially at the spot where finance meets tech. The 'Superday' was the main event, with a bunch of interviews back-to-back, really testing my limits. The technical interviews weren't just about getting the answer right, but about showing my thinking, like explaining OOP concepts or detailing the design of my old projects, focusing on scalability and security. Behavioral interviews were tough too, all about Citi's Leadership Standards, so I had to link my answers to things like being aware of risk and working well with others, showing I can handle the banking world's strict rules and also code well.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Systems Analyst
The interview process felt pretty straightforward, but the questions leaned towards what a manager might discuss with their associates informally. Associates also contributed their own questions, and some unexpected ones popped up. Despite that, they were all pretty standard, generic questions.
- Could you confirm your ability to be a valuable team member and contribute effectively to the company's goals?
