First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cision.
Senior Product Manager
I went through five interview rounds. These were with different teams across the company. Each interview focused on what the role needed and how I approach problems. Most of the interviews were behavioral, looking at my past work.
- Can you walk me through how you think about product development?
- How do you approach identifying and defining problems?
Product Manager
I went through 3 rounds. First was with a recruiter, but I got ghosted for a bit until I reached out, then they called me for R2. R2 was with the Hiring Manager, and R3 was a Panel Interview. Everyone on the panel was nice, but it felt like they already decided on someone, and they didn't seem super interested in getting to know me. They didn't ask really any important questions.
- What makes you want to join Cision?
Product Manager
I had a phone screen and then a video call with a senior person, not sure if it was the hiring manager. Lots of hypothetical questions, not really about the job itself. A red flag was that a Director role would have no direct reports. After waiting a couple weeks and chasing the recruiter, I got an automated rejection email. Pretty bad after speaking with someone already.
- Hypothetical and general professional personality questions.
- Questions focusing less on specific product manager duties.
