Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cision.
Analyst
I went through a 3-step hiring process for this role. First, there was a long initial chat with HR. Then, I had to complete an Editorial Test that took about an hour and a half. After that, I had a second interview with the Team Lead, which seemed to go well because I got an email saying they liked my presentation. Unfortunately, a week later, I found out the position was on a hiring freeze and they weren't recruiting anymore.
- Can you describe how you deal with client feedback?
Analyst
The hiring process was fast, smooth, and straightforward. It involved three main parts: a phone screening, followed by a one-hour assignment, and then a final interview with two department leads/managers. I got the call for the phone screen about three days after submitting my application. Roughly a week later, I was sent the assignment. A few days after that, I got feedback and an invitation to the last interview. All the people I interacted with were friendly, upfront, and kept me informed. I didn't encounter any strange or unaddressed questions myself – I genuinely enjoyed our conversations, and I was thrilled to receive an offer just one day after the final interview.
- What's your approach when receiving negative feedback?
Analyst
Since I got in via an internal referral, the interview process might have been different from the standard one. First, I had an interview with the Hiring Manager, who was great and asked some really good questions about my past work, strengths, and weaknesses. Then, I had a second interview with his Manager, who happened to be a C-level executive. Finally, the third round was with HR to discuss salary and benefits.
- The company offers a lot of interesting work, but also expects you to do routine, mundane, or even boring tasks. How would you manage this?
