If you're thinking about interviewing at Circle, you should definitely read what other people have said—it's always the same story. It seems like they just ghost candidates all the time, it's not rare, it's the standard. The technical recruiters are super slow, unclear, or just don't respond at all. Don't think it's you, this seems to be how they do things. You might spend weeks interviewing, talk to a bunch of people on the team, and then just get radio silence with no updates. This kind of thing makes it seem like there's no teamwork or accountability going on. The recruiter I talked to was really unprofessional—they'd make excuses for delays with personal stories about being busy, family stuff, or other random life things, instead of just giving you quick updates or telling you what's next. It really comes across like the recruiting team is either badly run or doesn't care about professional standards. It's pretty wild how many bad reviews this place gets. And the fact that no one seems to have addressed them makes it look like there are bigger problems with the recruiting leadership and that the company and its leaders just don't care or aren't in a hurry to fix things. If you're still going for a role here, just know what you're getting into. The process could be slow, all over the place, and they might not communicate—and that might actually be a sign of how things are run inside the company too.

I applied online and was immediately asked to complete an online assessment on CodeSignal. This was a requirement even for manager roles. CodeSignal is similar to LeetCode and offers a practice round, which I did to get used to the JavaScript IDE. The practice IDE was a bit quirky but usable. A few days later, I took the actual assessment, but the IDE was different and lacked a visible console, making debugging impossible initially. I eventually found it, but lost time. I couldn't finish the assessment and got a low score because of the IDE issues. The task itself was simple but time-consuming to implement, and struggling with the IDE took away from my testing time. CodeSignal acknowledged the IDE difference. I missed a great opportunity at Circle because of this bug, and I wanted to share this as a heads-up for others using CodeSignal assessments.

First I had a talk with the Hiring manager which included a Hacker rank problem as a screen, it wasn't super hard but not typical LC questions either. After that, I moved on to the virtual onsite, which consisted of 5 rounds spread over 2 days. There were 2 System design rounds, one pair programming an API, and 2 Management interviews. The interviews felt well structured and I had enough time to ask my questions. The only drawback was that the tooling for system design wasn't the best.
