So the recruiter told me that this is what a typical interview process looks like for a Key Account Manager. It's usually a 5-step process. First, you have an in-person interview with the General Manager. Then, a phone or in-person interview with the HR Manager. After that, there's a half-day shadow day where you get to learn about the business and accounts you'd be handling, and this is in person. The fourth interview is with the Sales Director via Teams video call. Finally, the fifth interview is with the Group VP, also via Teams video. However, in my case, I first spoke with HR via Teams, and then my second interview was actually with the General Manager.

Behavioral Technical Other

I'm not sure if this company outsources their recruiters or what, but I have had two bad interview processes here. The first was a couple years ago and I was still employed with another company. The interview was in the afternoon and I got a call around 11 a.m. saying they couldn't make it because the manager has been out all morning. I explained I took PTO off for this interview and couldn't keep taking off PTO. They had me sit in front of someone that was unrelated to sales and had no idea about the role. I never even got a call back about the interview. The second time was about a week ago. The recruiter was an hour late to the appointment. He was totally unprepared and I had to wait several minutes at a time for him to pull up his screen for his assessments. He asked very random and general questions, which was very robotic. The whole time you could hear him typing on the computer and it sounded like he wasn't listening to anything I was saying. When we recapped some of my answers, he had them down incorrectly and said it had been a long day. For follow up questions, he didn't know about the territory, customer size, number of accounts, nothing. I still haven't received even an answer to my follow ups. Interviewing at this place has been the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. For a company that holds themselves in such high regards to culture, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried again with the interview, which I instantly regretted. I'm not sure how or why they employ the recruiters they do, but that will be the last time I ever interview with Cintas. They have been a major disappointment not once, but twice.

Behavioral Other

A recruiter hit me up saying I'd be a great fit. Then, a week later, I had an interview with 3 people from the team: 2 senior account managers and 1 director. Each interview was 30 mins long. The first senior AM asked about 20 questions from a paper about my past experiences and career goals. The second senior AM seemed disorganized and kept their questions brief, like they were having a rough day. The director's interview was more open-ended, asking random questions and looking for someone who's a team player. All of them have been at the company for over 20 years. I noticed only women working there during my visit, like 200 people. I didn't get the job, and I suspect it's because I'm a man. If you're a woman with an outgoing personality and seeking a career, they'd hire you instantly.
