First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cineworld Cinemas.
Barista
It was a group interview with over 30 people, and we had to do group activities. Most activities were done in pairs, and we had to complete exercises like making sentences using only 3-letter words, with some exceptions for Starbucks-related words.
- What's your favorite Starbucks drink?
Cashier
It was a group interview. Most questions were group-dependent, and individual assessment was minimal, though my group performed well. There wasn't enough time for the math section of the test, and the pricing sheet was hard to read due to small text on both the paper and the board. The movie quiz was okay, but the layout could have had larger boxes. It would have been good to get some specific feedback on why I was rejected instead of a generic email.
- Can you write a story using only words of three words or less, with 'Cineworld' being the only exception?
Retail Assistant
We had a group interview where the job was described and we all introduced ourselves and answered a question like 'first cinema memory' or 'best cinema memory'. There were about 30 of us. Then we were split into smaller groups to do some tasks, like discussing hypothetical situations and deciding what to prioritize from a list of tasks. It was pretty relaxed and informal.
- Tell us about your first memory of going to the cinema.
- What's your best memory related to the cinema?
