First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CIGNEX Datamatics.
Senior Software Engineer
It's a direct interview with the client. They will ask you about Ab Initio components, parallelism techniques, performance tuning, some Unix commands, and SQL queries. For SQL, they might ask about finding the maximum salary, duplicate records, or employee IDs whose manager ID is in the department table.
- Questions are based on your experience.
Angular Developer
The interview process needs improvement. They conducted interviews via direct call, without video or even a meeting invite. While explaining concepts is fine, they also asked for specific code syntax. My first technical interview went well. In the second interview, they were about 40 minutes late. The interviewer asked the same questions about Angular and Javascript, and it went great; I was very confident. When I asked if I could work on cloud or new technologies besides frontend, she abruptly said, 'No. You'll never work on anything apart from frontend,' which felt rude. A few days later, HR informed me I wasn't selected without a clear reason.
- Can you explain Angular interceptors?
- What's the difference between promises and observables?
- Could you describe Angular's lifecycle hooks?
Technical Lead
Got referred by a friend. HR asked for basic info via email and then set up a phone interview. Two people were on the conference call. It lasted about 45 minutes. There was a lot of background noise, and the interviewer didn't mute himself even after I asked. The interviewer had a really bossy attitude, acting like he was always right and would question or try to prove you wrong for every answer. He seemed to want exact, textbook answers, like the 'What is a machine?' question from 3 Idiots.
- Can you explain JIT Compiler?
- What about Strings?
- Tell me about the Object class.
Consultant
They have this policy that you can't interview with Cignex again within 6 months of your last interview. But I've interviewed three times in just two months! The first time, I got rejected. The second time, after a face-to-face interview, they told me I couldn't continue because I'd interviewed less than six months prior. The third time, when they found out I was serving my notice period and would be free in 10 days, they got really active. They finished my first telephonic round within 24 hours, moved me to the client interview stage, and finished everything within the next week. So, it seems that 6-month rule is applied differently sometimes.
