Customer Success Manager
It was a really straightforward process. A recruiter reached out, then I had two interviews with the hiring manager to see if it was a good fit. There were also some tests on personality and decision-making.
- Can you explain how you manage and prioritize your workload?
- What's your approach to making decisions?
- Tell me about your personality.
Sales Development Manager
I connected with the Chief Growth Officer via Linkedin and they gave me some context on why the role was open. The 30min call started 5 minutes late and ended abruptly. The chat was meant to be informal about the role. I asked about the challenges leading to hiring for the role, but the CGO kept referring back to an email and didn't answer my questions. They seemed distracted and uninterested during the conversation. I got an automated rejection a week later. Given the poor experience, I wouldn't have taken another meeting.
- Can you tell me about some of your best bosses?
Project Manager
I went through a 4-step interview process, each a 30-minute Zoom call. First up was the Recruiter, then the CRO, followed by the Head of Project Management, and finally the Head of Account Management. Interestingly, salary and benefits were never brought up, not even broadly, despite the job posting showing a salary range. All interviews felt positive. The Recruiter was super enthusiastic and thought I'd be a great fit. Things really clicked with the Chief Revenue Officer; he even suggested I might be better suited for a Head of Project Management role given my skills, rather than just a Project Manager. The last two interviews also went smoothly, with both managers sharing their contact info and saying I'd be a good match. It was a long haul just to get ghosted for two weeks, then finally hear they were moving on with other candidates. I sent a thank-you email to everyone, expressing my appreciation for their time and asking to be kept in mind for future roles. No response, and two days later, the same position popped up on Indeed. It all worked out in the end because I landed another offer elsewhere, but it was a really strange experience to be told I was such a good fit throughout, even getting hints about a potential head role, only to be told they were going with others.
- Can you describe your experience using Six Sigma within Project Management?
Copywriter
My interviewer was 15 minutes late to our remote screening and wasn't apologetic. He was also condescending/borderline sexist (e.g., telling me to act "more excited" when speaking to the hiring manager?). The whole experience gave me a bad impression of the company and its culture, along with many of the negative reviews on GD, so I decided to drop out of consideration for the role as I was totally uninterested after that interview. The pay being offered (around $50k) is quite low for the position and its responsibilities as well.
- Can you provide an overview of your background and qualifications?
