First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CICC.
Equity Research Intern
The interview started with a self-introduction, then moved to in-depth questions about my previous internship experience. They also asked for my insights on the recent market trends and the driving factors behind them. I was asked to forecast the stock market and justify my predictions. We discussed my past research frameworks and their results. Financial modeling questions were also part of the discussion. Finally, they inquired about my availability for the internship.
- Can you describe your past research framework and the outcomes?
- What was the framework of your past research and what were the outcomes?
Investment Analyst
First there was a call to introduce ourselves, go over the CV, and ask some technical questions about valuation, the industry, and pitching companies. Then, there was a video call with the entire team and three other candidates where we discussed motivation and logical reasoning. After that, we had to work on a case study, preparing a research report on a target industry and company, which we then presented. Finally, we had to pitch our research findings and answer questions.
- Can you discuss valuation methodologies?
- What is your take on the current industry situation?
- How would you pitch a company?
Private Equity Analyst
I had one interview that lasted about 15 minutes and wasn't too hard. My friends told me that sometimes they ask how the three financial statements connect and test some basic technical knowledge.
- What are your thoughts on AI development and whether it will replace human employees?
- Tell me about a past deal you were involved in.
