First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CICC.
Intern
Applied online with CV + transcript. A recruiter/HR reached out within ~1–3 weeks to confirm availability, preferred group/location, and basic fit (motivation, resume walkthrough, start/end dates). Round 1 (HR / screening call, 15–30 min): background, “why CICC / why this team,” internship timeline, language preference (Chinese/English), and basic behavioral questions. Round 2 (Team interview, 30–45 min): more in-depth resume drill + motivation. For finance roles, expect core technicals (accounting, valuation, markets), plus a few quick mental math questions. Interviewers also probed how I think under pressure and whether I can communicate clearly and concisely.
- What's your motivation for applying?
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- What are your start and end dates for the internship?
Intern
This was an average difficulty interview process. I went through several rounds. The people I interviewed with were nice. They just asked me questions, and that was it. Overall, it was an average difficulty interview process with multiple rounds, and the interviewers were pleasant. The questions were straightforward.
- Can you introduce yourself and answer a technical question?
- Tell me about yourself and answer a technical question.
Intern
The interview process had 2 phases. First, there was a direct interview with the mentor, and then an interview with the VP. They asked general questions like introducing yourself, going over your CV, and technical questions about WACC. They really focused on industry insights and sometimes challenged my answers.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Can you explain WACC?
