Applied online with CV + transcript. A recruiter/HR reached out within ~1–3 weeks to confirm availability, preferred group/location, and basic fit (motivation, resume walkthrough, start/end dates). Round 1 (HR / screening call, 15–30 min): background, “why CICC / why this team,” internship timeline, language preference (Chinese/English), and basic behavioral questions. Round 2 (Team interview, 30–45 min): more in-depth resume drill + motivation. For finance roles, expect core technicals (accounting, valuation, markets), plus a few quick mental math questions. Interviewers also probed how I think under pressure and whether I can communicate clearly and concisely.

The interview process had 2 phases. First, there was a direct interview with the mentor, and then an interview with the VP. They asked general questions like introducing yourself, going over your CV, and technical questions about WACC. They really focused on industry insights and sometimes challenged my answers.
