First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center).
Relationship Manager
I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within 4 days for a video screening call. I skipped this due to an internal reference and also expressed interest in a CEO-adjacent role due to my experience. Following this, I was invited for an in-person interview a week later with the Assistant to the CEO and the head of talent acquisition. We discussed my experience and potential contributions for an hour. Afterwards, I completed a character assessment on my laptop. A few days later, I was asked to retake the assessment due to a technical issue, which made me anxious. The following week, I was informed they weren't moving forward, citing a lack of fit. I'm worried the assessment might have been the issue, or perhaps my expressed interest in multiple roles. I received no specific feedback as it's kept confidential. Despite the outcome, it was a generally positive experience, though it taught me to be more focused in my applications.
- Can you share your experience with executive support?
- Have you been involved in event planning?
- Describe a time you felt overwhelmed. What did you do and what was the outcome?
Relationship Manager
So the interview had a phone screening first, lasted like 20 mins. Then I had an in-person interview with two people, lasted about an hour. There was also a critical thinking test that took about 30 mins, though I might have rushed it. I wasn't really ready for the in-person interview, and the interviewers didn't help much to make me feel comfortable. They were kinda intimidating, especially since it was 2-on-1, and I got super nervous and messed up.
- The interviewers asked hard problem-solving questions that needed a number as an answer. When I couldn't give one right away, they just stared at me for a long time.
Support Manager
The interview process included a Skype call, an online assessment, an in-person interview, a project assignment, and a full day of interacting with the staff, for which you get a $50 Amazon gift card. While everyone was nice, the whole thing felt a bit like too much.
- Imagine you're the first Community Associate arriving at the office and Jeremiah from Commonwealth AppTech urgently informs you about a severe water leak from the ceiling. Describe your immediate response and the subsequent actions you'd take to fully resolve the issue, detailing your thought process. Also, propose potential solutions for this specific incident, ways to prevent future occurrences for CIC, and draft the content for emails to Jeremiah, colleagues, building management, and other staff members. You're encouraged to be creative and use artistic license.
