Technical Coding

I had a 30-minute virtual interview after a recruiter call. The interviewer focused on Data Modelling, Data Bricks, and Azure. They didn't test my coding skills in this round. It went pretty well, and I could answer most questions, though a couple slipped my mind.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process for the Data Engineer role had 3 parts: first, an HR chat, then a technical interview with the Line Manager, and finally, an interview with the Hiring Manager (who is the Head of HR). The HR folks were nice. My Line Manager was really knowledgeable and we had a good discussion about my past projects and the technologies I've used. The interview with the Hiring Manager felt like it was designed to test how I perform under pressure, so be ready for that. All in all, it was a good experience.

I had a small technical interview first. Then, an onsite interview where I had to show my coding skills in areas like sorting, hashing, SQL, graphs, and tree traversals (BFS, DFS), as well as sliding window problems. After that, they asked me about data engineering concepts such as ETL, ELT, and MapReduce.
