The interview went pretty smoothly, the interviewers were pretty chill and understanding. HR can be very persuasive to have you in the company if you are a liked candidate. The hospitality was nice. You cannot take your personal laptops to their office.

I applied online for a job that needed a few years of experience. A few days later, I got an email to set up a phone chat with HR. We talked about my background, and I asked about the job and company. About a week passed, and then someone else from HR emailed to set up a phone interview with an actuary. They also had me complete a more detailed application. The phone interview with the actuary was about 45 minutes. He asked about my experience and what I wanted in a job, and he shared his own background and what he liked about the company, plus I got to ask him questions. We went a bit over time. The next day, HR called to see if I could come in for an onsite interview in the next day or two, and we set a date. I spent a half day interviewing with five actuaries. Some had prepared questions that felt a bit strange and repetitive, and it was hard to connect with them. One actuary showed me numbers and asked for my thoughts, but I didn't have experience in that specific area. They kept mentioning the job is demanding sometimes and that getting study or vacation time is tough. It didn't feel like a good fit, and I wasn't sure about the practice area. I got an offer soon after, but the salary was low, and the study program and exam raises weren't competitive. I felt it wasn't a good career move and declined the offer without negotiating.
