So I applied online and heard back pretty fast from a recruiter for a phone screen. After that, I had another phone call with one of the department heads. If I had made it, the next step would have been an in-person interview. I didn't get past the second stage though. The big issue for me was the role-play part of the second phone call. They had me chat online, pretending to be a CSR dealing with an angry customer. Even with my years of experience, I'm good on the phone, but this seemed to be the deciding factor. It felt awkward doing it with the interviewer on the line and no info on their policies or expectations. It made for slow typing and I was basically guessing what they wanted. It felt like a bad situation, and it's easy to mess up when you don't know what they're looking for or aren't in a proper setting. I didn't do well on it, and I could tell when we finished that I wasn't going to get an offer. The interviewer's attitude changed a lot, and she ended the call quickly.

The interview experience was really good. It started with a quick phone interview that was about 30 minutes long. They asked me for specific examples of when I used creative problem-solving for customer issues. They also made sure it was a good fit for me regarding work hours and the commute. Since the phone interview went well, they sent over an email with a common query to see how I'd respond as if I were part of the team. They kept me updated on my status throughout. After the email response, I was invited to the office for a couple of hours. During that time, I met with three different groups of interviewers and also shadowed the Customer Support team to get a feel for the job. There were many specific questions, but also a lot of casual conversation.

The interview process took weeks and consisted of 4 or 5 rounds. It started with a phone screen, and I'm not sure if there was a second one. After that, I had three rounds of in-person interviews at the Santa Monica office, which lasted about 3 hours. I spoke with around six employees there, and also video-conferenced with three or four employees from another state. This was the most rigorous interview experience I've had, and it was for an entry-level role. All this effort for a rejection call a few days later. I felt it was too much for an entry-level job that pays below market rate.
