Account Coordinator
After seeing great reviews on Glassdoor and BuiltinLA, I applied online. The recruiter quickly emailed me to set up a phone interview that lasted about 25-30 minutes where we discussed my resume and work background. A few days later, the recruiter called back and invited me for an in-person interview at the office. I liked that they sent an itinerary beforehand, it was helpful for prep. This in-person interview was about 2 hours long, and I met with 2 managers to discuss my background and the role. After that, I met with another manager and the COO, where we went over my background again and discussed the role and company in more detail. Everyone was really nice and easy to talk to. A couple days after that, the recruiter offered me the job, and I accepted!
- Could you share your key strengths and any areas where you see room for improvement?
Account Coordinator
The interview process at ChowNow was pretty standard. It started with a phone chat with the recruiting manager where I talked about my background and why I was interested in the job. Then, I was invited to ChowNow HQ for interviews with three people, including the COO. They asked about my experience, hobbies, motivations for joining ChowNow, and how my skills fit the Account Coordinator role. The COO also asked some fun, creative questions like 'sell me Instagram' and about my favorite restaurants or apps. After that, I went back for another round with the same interviewers. This time, we focused more on my career journey and aspirations and how they connected with ChowNow's vision. Overall, it was a pretty typical interview experience, and everyone made me feel comfortable and valued.
- How does your background in public relations relate to the Account Coordinator job?
- How can your public relations experience be applied to this Account Coordinator role?
Account Coordinator
I applied online and heard back from ChowNow HR the same day. First, I had a phone screen with Candice. She explained the role and what they're looking for. She wanted to schedule an in-person interview. A few days later, I went in and met Jessica and Stephanie (who was skyped in). Having Stephanie skyped in made the interview harder, but I dealt with it. They were both nice and seemed to care about their team. Then I met Eric, the COO. He was hard to read, but friendly. We had more of a conversation than an interview. The whole thing took a couple of hours, so plan for that. I felt confident but didn't get an offer. Like other Silicon Beach startups, they really sell the culture, which is great if you're in your 20s. But, it also means startup pay, which isn't ideal and would have been a career step back for me.
