Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at China Bank.
Staff Assistant
The interview process included a preliminary examination where I was asked questions about my background, family, education, and work experience, as well as other questions suitable for the job description. Then there was a final interview.
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
Secretary
First, you'll need to pass a pre-employment exam. If you do well on that, HR will interview you. Then, if you pass that first interview, HR will contact you for a final interview with the Department head. Finally, they'll extend a job offer.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What experiences do you have?
Staff Assistant
I applied through job street. Then, a week later, they called me for exam confirmation, scheduled for April 24, 2019, at 8 am. I was late due to traffic and getting lost in Makati, so I advise arriving early as they start promptly. First, we filled out a 2-page form: page 1 for personal info, page 2 for essay questions on strengths, weaknesses, accomplishments, and responsibilities. Then came the exam, covering Math, English, and abstract reasoning, with time pressure. The HR reviewed it immediately. Those who failed went home; those who passed got an interview schedule for the same day. I passed and my interview was at 3 pm, so I went home since the exam finished at 10:30 am. After the interview, HR said they'd contact me within 1-2 weeks if shortlisted for a second interview. I'm unsure if I passed the interview, as I felt confident answering, but they might not have wanted to say no directly.
- Tell me about your relationship with your family.
- What are three values your parents taught you?
- Can you elaborate on your strengths?
