Got a call for a phone screen. Did the phone screen and it went really well. During the phone screen I was asked what I was looking for in the RC role. I explicitly stated that I'm not just looking for a come in and schedule only role. I'm looking for a role where I can truly learn best recruiting and sourcing practices and grow-learn boolean, greenhouse, salesforce, etc. That was very important to me, so the team decided to move forward. I moved on to the "onsite" (VC due to COVID) interviews. There were 4. Focused on team engagement, scheduling practices, team fit. Overall they were good but I met with a talent operations manager and that interview was a lukewarm experience. His phone rang twice and didn't mute it. He seemed distracted and I didn't feel that I got the attention that I deserved. He also mentioned "bosses" and "hierarchy" a couple times and who works "under him" which was a red flag for me. I also asked how the company is dealing with the racial injustices of the murder of George Floyd and what has leadership done to be a pillar of support for the minorities at Chime-I did not get a strong or direct answer. Following week, got a call saying the team was not moving forward b/c they're looking for someone who is only focused on scheduling. I was extremely confused by that feedback b/c in the initial phone screen, again, I had explicitly stated that I'm not just looking for a come in and schedule only role and they decided to move forward knowing that. I would not have accepted an offer due to the bad interview experience I had at the end and there was no indication that I could truly make a strong impact. I had a bad feeling so I think not getting an offer was a blessing in disguise. If you're jumpstarting your career and just want to get experience, Chime would be a good fit.

The interview process had a few parts: first a phone call, then an on-site interview. There was also a follow up call with a panel member because they couldn't make the original on-site.

Had a 20-minute initial phone call to learn more about the role and Chime. Then, I spoke with the hiring manager for another 30 minutes, going into more depth about my background and why I wanted to join Chime. After that, I went onsite for about a 4-hour interview. I met several people on the team, and each person taught me something new about Chime or recruitment. It was long but so fun! I was really impressed by the office and everyone I met. Everyone asked different questions, which was a different experience from big name companies I worked with. I feel like they really challenged me, were authentic, and also eased any concerns I had.
