Customer Support Engineer
So the company headhunted me and I was interested in the role. They sent me a test with 4 questions and I had to record a video explaining my answers. Unfortunately, some personal stuff happened and I couldn't respond as quickly as they wanted (they contacted me on Monday and wanted it by Friday), because I had no internet for the whole week due to a house issue. I sorted that out on Monday, finished the test, and recorded the video. The platform they used (greenhouse) didn't accept mp4 or any video file, so I uploaded it to YouTube as an unlisted video with my answers and put the link in the greenhouse textbox. I emailed the recruiter saying I was done, but they completely ignored me, which was weird because they were responsive before. Two days later, I got a generic rejection email with no feedback or suggestions for improvement. The video still has zero views, so I'm guessing they didn't even review my application. I get that it took me a week to respond, but some feedback would have been nice.

Customer Support Engineer
The process was really responsive and interactive, not robotic at all. It started with a skills assessment from the recruiting team. Then, I had an interview with the Hiring Manager, followed by another with the Hiring Manager and the CCO. The final round was with the CEO, who seemed genuinely interested in the team's values. Excited to join the Pipers!

Customer Support Engineer
A recruiter reached out. The first steps involved recording a 5-minute self-introduction video and completing a technical skills test, prior to any phone interview. Honestly, having to send in a video intro feels degrading and opens the door for discrimination. Companies need to remember that the interview process is a two-way street, and candidates evaluate companies too. This company's interview process is a terrible experience for candidates. If you have any self-respect, I'd suggest applying elsewhere.
