The hiring manager reached out to me to set up an interview. Since I was out of state, we did the interview over Zoom. During the interview, I met with the managers and also the care coordinators from the clinics I would be covering. They asked me some scenario-based questions and some questions about my working style and to get to know me better. The whole process was very easygoing, and everyone was really nice.

I had a 45-minute initial interview via Teams that went really well. The recruitment team mentioned there was another round coming up and that a few candidates would be chosen for it. I didn't hear back for about a week and a half, then got a rejection email on a weekend. The email said they had already selected a final candidate, which seemed odd to me since I thought we were still in the interview process. It made me wonder if they had an internal candidate all along.

The interview process was standard, and I received an offer. However, the onboarding experience was exceptionally poor. A communication error occurred with the drug screening clinic designated by Children's Hospital, which resulted in my screening being incorrectly marked as a refusal, leading to the rescission of my offer. HR admitted that this type of communication error had affected other potential hires and that they intended to contact the clinic directly about it. My offer to undergo a new screening the same day to clear up any 'suspicion' was still denied. I was then told this was due to a Children's Hospital policy that was neither detailed in the onboarding materials nor verbally communicated to me. The recruiter handling the onboarding repeatedly stated it was 'not her job' to provide this crucial information, even though this policy significantly impacts the hiring process. My attempts to contact my prospective manager were also ignored, despite being encouraged to reach out with any questions or concerns. I'm still quite bewildered by the whole situation. Hopefully, an amendment will be made to the onboarding forms to prevent this in the future. Regardless of what the clinics inform candidates, policies specific to Children's that could affect the hiring process should be included in their onboarding documentation.

I applied in early May and was contacted within a week to schedule an interview. The entire process wrapped up in about a month, with an offer extended in late May. It started with an informal Zoom interview with the manager, focusing on the role and responsibilities, and allowing me to ask job-related questions. This was followed by a more formal second interview with the medical director, the manager, and another team member, where they assessed my experience and got to know me better.
