First a recruiter will call you to screen you, if that goes well you will have an in-person interview with the hiring manager. After that, you will usually have at least one more interview with the hiring manager's director and/or the team that you will be working with.

I sent in my application back in November 2014. It wasn't until February 2015 that they got in touch to check if I was still keen on the job. After I confirmed, they emailed over some info about the Talk With Me Baby Project and set up an interview. The first interview was with the Lead Research Coordinator and the Director of Infant and Toddler Clinical Research Operations. I met the Lead Research Coordinator first in the lobby, and while we said hello, she seemed really unfriendly and kind of aggressive. Then we went up to the Director's office, which was quite dim because the lights were off, and only natural light was coming in. The director was on her laptop at a round table and stayed on it the whole time. The Lead Research Coordinator did most of the interviewing, and honestly, it was pretty awkward overall.

Got a call from a recruiter the day after I sent my resume, they seemed really interested and even told me the salary upfront, which was nice. Then I had about three more interviews over the next few weeks with the program manager. It took a while to hear back after the last one, but I'd already accepted another job by then. Overall, it was a pretty standard interview process.
