Recruiter
I applied for the High Volume Recruiter position and the TA manager reached out to set up an interview. On the day of the interview, she texted me at the scheduled time to reschedule. Even though I was a little annoyed, I understood and said I'd appreciate being considered for the next available business day and time, as I was still very keen on the job. Sadly, I didn't hear back until five business days later with a generic email saying thanks for my interest and that they were moving forward with other candidates. I don't usually leave reviews, but this was a frustrating experience and felt like a total waste of my time. It's disappointing and unprofessional how this was handled. Chewy, you need to do better with candidate experience, especially since Talent Acquisition is often the first impression a candidate gets of the company.

Recruitment Manager
The interview process at Chewy, while a bit lengthy, is definitely worth the time. My recruiter, Amy, was exceptional – super friendly, always got back to me quickly, and kept me in the loop the whole way. She even went the extra mile to prep me on what kind of questions to expect, which is more than you usually get from a corporate recruiter. As a recruiter myself for 15 years, I was really impressed with the whole experience, especially Amy's professionalism! Everyone I spoke with was welcoming, shared great insights about the company, and asked really relevant questions.
- The final interview round lasts about 4+ hours and is all about behavioral questions using the STAR method, so prepare for that.
- If you don't understand a question, ask for clarification because some were quite long.
- All questions focused on past experience, so drawing from your history should be manageable.
Recruiter
So I got hit up on LinkedIn by a recruiter for a role, and even though I'm chillin' where I'm at, Chewy's always been on my radar, you know? So I was like, 'Yeah, let's chat,' and set up a call with the recruiter who messaged me. But get this, she no-showed the first time we were supposed to talk. I hit her up like 7-8 minutes after, and she's like, 'Oh, I was on another call, ran over.' We were both kinda swamped, so we decided to reschedule. And mind you, I ditched an appointment for this after-hours call! Then, after I tossed out some times for the next day, she finally got back to me, agreed to one, and said she'd send an invite 'right now.' Surprise! I got the invite like 15 hours later, and it was for a completely different day and time than we discussed, with this super sloppy note to propose a new time if that didn't work. Oh, and she was 10 minutes late *again* for the rescheduled call. By then, I literally had to bounce, so I was walking out the door when she called. She apologized, tried to crack a joke about it. The call itself? A hot mess. She rudely commented on my LinkedIn pic, kept saying how she'd 'let me have my full time' even though *she* was the one running late and not considering my evening plans. When I talked about my current role at a known tech company, she was so degrading, insulted everything I said, and bragged about how much better her team is. I'm fine with feedback, but her tone felt like middle school. Totally checked out after that. She then started raving about how much more successful Chewy is than my company, which is just bizarre, especially since, like, looking at the actual numbers, my company's valued way higher. She finished by saying she was super excited and wanted to move forward, even offering team options. It's been a week, and... crickets. This whole thing really soured me on Chewy. Worst screening ever in my 15 years. That recruiter needs a serious lesson in candidate experience and basic human decency.
- Can you describe the processes involved in your current role?
- How do you see Chewy's methods comparing to your current company's?
- What's your perspective on the comparative success of Chewy versus your present employer?
