It was an easy interview experience! It felt pretty casual, to be honest. They asked personal questions and good ones that weren't too hard. They also asked if I knew anyone else working there. I do, and I told them about my connection to that person.

I applied online on ChemPoint's website on 7/1. The application had multiple choice salary ranges and I chose $30-34. A recruiter called me on 7/13 and we set up a call for 7/14. During the call, she asked about why I'm looking and my experience. I asked her about the HR team size and why the position is open, but she didn't know. She thought the employee count was 300. She asked about my salary expectations, I said $70k, she said okay. Then she mentioned the pay is more like $65k, and I said yes, I'll move forward once I get answers to some other questions. Later she emailed saying the range is $54-59k. It felt like a waste of time because they couldn't meet my expectations and couldn't answer my questions.

Behavioral Technical

It all started with a referral, and I got through the initial phone interview which was pretty straightforward. After that, I was invited for a panel interview that lasted about 3 hours. During the interview, they made my experience seem irrelevant and then had me shadow the "Customer Solutions Specialist." This role looked like a dead-end job where aspirations go to die. The person I shadowed seemed completely miserable, just copying text from one document to another. They explained that this was the required task to advance to the next level and to "learn" the business. I immediately knew I wanted out, as I'd rather be unemployed than spend my days doing such monotonous, highly regulated work. However, for my friend's sake, I finished the interview. I didn't send follow-up emails because I had no intention of accepting a job that involved such soul-crushing work. The office environment itself was quite appealing, though. If there was any place to give up all hopes and dreams for near minimum wage, it would be this office.

I got contacted for a phone interview pretty fast after sending in my resume. The HR manager was super nice and the chat went great, no tough questions at all. Then, a few hours later, they asked me to come in person. I met with about 6 or 7 people across two teams, and also did a job shadow. Everyone was really friendly and asked fair questions. They also gave really good answers when it was my turn to ask stuff. I sent thank you emails the next morning and got an offer a few hours after that. It was a really good experience.
