I applied for the Retail Assistant position through Indeed, and it wasn't my first time applying; I'd previously applied on their website. I got follow-up calls for both applications. The HR person asked me some behavioural questions and about my past work experience. She also asked some HR-related questions regarding my flexibility, commute, and visa status. However, both times, I didn't receive any response or clear communication about the interview outcome, so I'm assuming I was rejected. I wouldn't want to apply to Chemist Warehouse again due to the lack of respect for candidates' time and efforts.

The manager was super nice and made sure I felt comfy before we started chatting. We kicked things off by talking about my past retail work and what I did there. Then, they told me all about the job I applied for and asked if I was keen to work. Lastly, we chatted about what I'm good at and what I need to work on.

First, they review your application or resume. If it looks good, you'll have a quick chat via phone or video with HR or the hiring manager to talk about your experience, why you want this job, and if you'd fit in. They might ask some basic questions about technical stuff or how you'd handle situations, depending on the role. If that goes well, you might have a final chat with the hiring manager or team lead. This could be a deeper dive into things or a quick test to solve a problem if it's relevant. If everything works out, they'll offer you the job pretty soon after.

The hiring process was quite straightforward. I submitted my application and received a call for an interview about a week later. I then attended the interview, bringing along my ID for verification. The interview itself was brief. Initially, they reviewed my resume and asked questions related to it, followed by their own set of interview questions.
