Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Checkmarx.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved an initial HR chat, followed by a technical interview. After that, there was an assignment to complete and a subsequent code review of that assignment. The entire process spanned two weeks and was a positive experience with friendly interactions with everyone involved.
- Can you describe your current job responsibilities?
- Have you encountered any problems with concurrency in your work?
- What about system scaling, any issues there?
Software Engineer
I made it to step 3, which was a code challenge. The challenge was in Golang and wasn't too hard if you've used Go before. But, if you wanted to cover all the Go specifics like Goroutines, Pointers, Dependency Injection, maps, etc., it would take some time. I got some feedback saying they chose another candidate. When I asked for more details about what they expected for Golang testing, since it's not my main stack, I never heard back. Still waiting...
- Can you discuss your background and work history?
- Could you elaborate on your technical experience?
Automation Developer
The interview process started with a take-home test done while being recorded with screen sharing. After that, I had a chat with the manager, which was mostly a get-to-know-each-other conversation. Finally, there was an HR interview.
- It was a take-home exam where I had to build some classes to demonstrate my understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
- What tests would you perform on a simple login page?
