Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Checkmarx.
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was very fast and good. But they suddenly disappeared before the last round, which was disappointing. Then I got an email that they decided to go with another candidate. My feedback is: Why do you need to ask a candidate to go through 3 rounds of interview if you are not sure about that person's capabilities or whatever? Say no early in the interview stage than the last one.
- Can you describe a typical day in this role?
- Share an experience of working effectively in a team.
- Describe a time when teamwork was challenging.
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was quite drawn out. It began with a phone interview with HR, followed by a 1:1 with the Team Lead. Then there was another 1:1 with the Head of Customer Success. After that, I had to do a presentation for the Team Lead, the Head, and the CSM Director, which was a lot of work! Finally, I had a 1:1 with the CSM Director. I felt the entire process was too long; you really need to be prepared for every step and have a deep understanding of the product and cybersecurity. The questions are tough, not just a casual chat, except for the initial HR interview.
- What motivates your interest in Checkmarx and the cybersecurity field?
- How would you handle a situation where you cannot resolve an angry customer's problem?
Senior Customer Success Manager
It was a great interview process overall. They were really clear about what would happen next, including the technical task they wanted me to do. I got feedback really quickly, probably faster than any other hiring process I've been through. First, there was a quick phone chat. Then I met with the head of the department. After that, I had to do an exercise which took about 5 days, and I had to present it in another interview. The last couple of steps involved a shorter chat with an international department leader and a final meeting with HR.
- Could you tell me about the portfolio you managed and the size and value of those accounts?
- What strategy would you employ for a key customer, and how do you conduct Business Reviews?
- Can you outline the customer lifecycle and your approach to managing it?
