First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Check Point Software Technologies.
Cloud Security Engineer
I had three interviews. First was a 30-minute phone call with the team manager where we discussed my past experience and personal projects. Second was a 1.5-hour system design interview focused on AWS, ending with one easy coding question. Third was a Codility test with three questions: two were easy to medium, and one was hard. I'm confident I passed the Codility test, especially the easier questions, but they said I failed, which is strange. The overall experience was okay; they responded quickly after each interview, but I'm still confused about failing the Codility test when I'm sure I did everything correctly and efficiently.

Security Engineer
I got approached by email after the CSA challenge. First, there was a phone interview where they asked about my background and a tough challenge I solved. Then, I had a 2.5-hour interview in a small room. They asked about my background, why I'm interested in the course, and then gave me 3 sets of questions: 1. notepad implementation (O(n) and O(1) access), 2. Network protocols (attacks, prevention, limits, and extensions), and 3. Computer questions for about 30-40 mins. The interviewer was nice and understanding, and I had enough time to answer and discuss.
- How would you implement a notepad that contains characters and design: in access of O(n)?
- How would you implement a notepad that contains characters and design: in access of O(1)?
- Given the protocol, which attack can be used on clients and how?
Security Engineer
The interview started with a phone call, a quick review of my resume and personality check. The next day, the hiring manager called to learn more about me, asking about past projects, including successes and failures. The third interview involved traveling to their corporate office in NYC. The first evening there was a cocktail reception with other applicants and US managers to see how personalities mesh. The actual interviews were the following day, requiring a five-minute presentation, twice, to different managers. The goal was to assess how well I could 'sell' a product, with PowerPoint recommended but not mandatory; a technical presentation from college would also suffice.
- What is TCP/IP?
- What is SaaS?
- Can you explain the difference between a router and a firewall?
