So over two months, I went through four rounds for this Account Manager role. First was a Recruiter Screen, just talking about my background and if I fit. Then the Hiring Manager Interview, where we went over my experience and role fit. After that, I spoke with the VP of Sales about strategy and execution. The last step was a 30/60/90 Day Presentation, which I put a lot of work into. The first three chats were pretty standard and professional. I did the presentation at the end of March, and by early April, both the hiring manager and VP of Sales gave me a verbal offer. But then, like, two weeks later, I found out the hiring committee said no to the formal offer because they wanted to go with an internal candidate. Super disappointing, especially since I thought it was a done deal. The process itself was smooth, but the lack of honesty about the internal candidate was the worst part. I mean, the recruiter should've known or said something about that possibility. It felt really unprofessional to have me do all that, including the presentation, just to pull the rug out.

This involved 5 rounds with Sales and Engineering Leadership, including the Area Manager, VP Manager, an Engineering peer, the Engineering Manager, and the VP of Engineering. The whole thing took about 3 weeks because it was hard to schedule everyone.

Started with a nice HR chat, who then set me up for an in-person meeting with the hiring manager in Atlanta. The face-to-face went really well because my background was a great fit for the job. But the offer was a letdown – it was way less than I was making, so I had to pass. A year later, the same job reappeared. HR reached out, said the salary range was better, so I went through the whole thing again with the same manager and requirements. Never heard back from HR after that. The job keeps popping up, on and off, for two years. It's really confusing and makes me question the strategy or intentions behind it all.
