I've been pursued for years through cold calls from local sales managers. The hiring process is tedious, not difficult, but lengthy and involves significant assessment of your current practice breakdown, more than is typical in our industry. After numerous coffee meetings and phone 'touches', they want to see your book of business breakdown and tax filings for the last 2-3 years. There are panel interviews held downtown at Chase Tower (parking is $20 for 4+ hours).

I went to an open house and since I had applied online, I was interviewed first. It was pretty laid-back, mostly just chatting, and then they showed me around the office. They asked some standard interview questions, but they seemed really interested in hearing about a "fun job" I had previously. Later that day, I got a call to come back for fingerprinting and to set up a drug test, which was a typical urine sample. After everything cleared, I was set up for my orientation and training class.

Had 4 meetings. I was a referral. First two were with HR recruiters and they were really positive. But the last two were with managers who seemed gruff and clearly had an agenda rather than getting to know my qualifications. The hiring process is super structured, like a checklist on a worksheet.
