Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chase.
Senior Associate
There were 3 rounds in the interview process. It started with an HR screen that had behavior-based questions. Then, the first technical round was with the lead developer, followed by a round with a senior engineer, and the final round was with the executive director. The whole interview experience was pretty straightforward, but your confidence in answering the questions really matters.
- Can you describe the step-by-step process when an API is called?
- How would you write a query to find duplicate emails from a list containing over a billion emails?
Associate
The whole process took about 8 weeks from applying to the final offer. I spoke with four different recruiters, which I thought was strange, and also interviewed with four people on the hiring team. The interview itself wasn't too difficult, and I felt like I would be a good fit for the team. I got a job offer soon after, but it wasn't exactly what I had discussed with one of the recruiters earlier on. I tried to negotiate, and the recruiter said they'd get back to me the next week. However, more than a week went by with no response. I emailed them, and they said they had no more salary available and withdrew the offer. It would have been nice to get a simple heads-up, not to mention the really poor communication between the recruiters throughout the process.
- What are your long-term aspirations with the company?
- Can you describe your past experience and background?
- In what ways can you contribute to our team and company?
Lead Associate
It was a 3 step process. First, I had a recorded interview where I had to answer questions and record my answers. The second and third steps were with Chase Reps/Managers. The whole thing took about 3 weeks.
- How do you handle an upset customer?
