First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chase Bank.
Associate Banker
So first I had a phone interview for like 30 mins with a recruiter, then I went in for an in person interview at the bank with 3 people at the same time - the bank manager, assistant, and a relationship banker. That was over an hour.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What attracts you to Chase?
- Describe a situation where you assisted a dissatisfied customer.
Bank Teller
We'll sit down and talk. I'll ask questions about your money experience, sales experience, customer service experience, and professional appearance. Also, your time management knowledge. You need a high school diploma, and any college experience is a plus. It's good to know that there aren't a lot of tellers around, and the job is mostly computers.
- Do you have experience with money?
Associate Banker
So, my first interview was online with HR. I wasn't super sure about it, but thankfully I got through. A few days later, I had my second interview at the branch. The Branch Manager wasn't there, so the Head Teller interviewed me. It went pretty well, and she said someone would call in a few days to set up a meeting with the Branch Manager. Three days after that, the manager called and asked me for an interview. I got the job offer that same afternoon.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Chase?
- Do you have prior experience handling cash?
Vice President
First, there was an HR or recruiter screening call. Then, a Hiring Manager video interview happened, where I was upfront that it wouldn't be a good fit. They asked some good questions about my background related to the job, and also the usual stuff like why I want to leave my current job and why I want to join Chase. It seemed a bit lazy that they asked basic questions like these.
- Are you ready to relocate at your own expense and are you willing to come into the office 5 days a week, even though the job posting mentioned only 3 days?
- Why do you want to leave your current job?
- Why do you want to join Chase?
