First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Charlotte Tilbury.
Packaging Designer
I went through a two-stage interview process. The first stage was with talent acquisition where we talked about my fit for the role, my experience, and my salary expectations. I got through to the second stage, which was with the creative director. In this stage, I presented my portfolio. The team was really receptive and communicative. They were clear about why I was rejected, which I appreciated.

The interview process was genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. The interview team was incredibly respectful, attentive, and informative, which made the experience feel welcoming and engaging. I appreciated how thorough the process was — it gave me a clear understanding of the role and the opportunity, and I really enjoyed learning more about the team and the company. Overall, it was a positive, well‑structured, and even fun experience.
- Were there general questions about your alignment with the role?
Sales Associate
So I applied online and then had a phone interview where they asked me why I liked CT or to share a time I exceeded customer expectations. Next was the in-person interview. They told me to prep a makeup look and bring someone to model for it. I brought my friend, met the team, and then they had me help actual customers for 30 minutes while my friend was told to go shop, which was unexpected and not ideal. I'd interact with customers and when they wanted to buy something, I wasn't authorized to complete the sale, so I had to get someone else, which frustrated the customers. After that, I had to find my friend, do her makeup, and then had a 30-minute interview with the manager. None of this was disclosed beforehand.
- Do you have prior experience with makeup artistry?
Visual Merchandising Manager
I'm always kind of weirded out by how this company has so many job openings that are basically the same. It feels like I see the same role advertised constantly. A recruiter reached out to me about a potential call for an opening. I had a bunch of questions because it's a different field than what I'm currently doing. But from the get-go, she just started asking me questions and did a full interview for a job I wasn't even sure I wanted! Not a good impression, and they seemed really eager to hire someone, so it probably worked out for the best.
