First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Charlotte Russe.
Manager
It was a quick, casual chat. They asked straightforward questions that were easy to answer. Much of the conversation focused on my previous retail work and my education related to preventing losses, managing the sales floor, and arranging employee schedules. They were upfront about the salary and working hours. While I didn't struggle with most of their queries, having prior retail experience certainly helped.
- Can you share your experience with scheduling both part-time and full-time staff?
- Do you have any background in retail that you can tell me about?
- What's your education regarding loss prevention?
Assistant Manager
I've got a background in restaurants. I received a quick call for an interview. The store manager seemed nice, though their presentation wasn't the best. We had a good conversation, and I met some staff and got a tour of the store. During this interview, they mentioned 'extensive and detailed training' and basically guaranteed me a job that paid more than my current 30,000 salary (which I was already supplementing with a second part-time job). I also had to go around the store and create a night and day outfit. Later, I had a second interview with the district manager and both of them. It felt like I was pretty much offered a management role. The next day, they called saying they had concerns about me not knowing their products well enough, and instead offered me a $10/hr job, which would require quitting my two current jobs. This made me feel like the whole thing was misleading. All of this happened within a few weeks.
- Do you work well with others?
Associate Manager
Great company to work for! I worked for them for 2 years prior which is why I returned when I heard they were hiring for a Management Position. They were very timely and organized. I was hired immediately following the interview with the District Manager. The work environment is very professional and fun atmosphere. You have high expectations to meet but are fully within the limits of your title functions.
- Can you detail the responsibilities and job requirements from your previous employer?
- What skills and attributes did you acquire from your Managers?
- What motivates you to want to work for this Company?
