It was a 5 round process. First was a technical architectural round followed by a coding problem, then a system design round. After that, I had a round with a senior engineering manager from the India centre focusing on behavioural and management skills. Finally, there was a cross-functional round with a product person, also behavioural and management focused.

Behavioral Technical

The first round was with the IT manager, which was actually okay. They talked a lot about the team structure, the kind of high-priority tasks I'd be working on, and gave some high-level questions about integration experience. The second round was bad; the devs didn't introduce themselves and just kept asking questions until I had to interrupt them to ask what they do. The third round was the worst - the interviewer didn't ask the right questions and didn't even know her role when I asked. There was also a lot of background noise from kids, making it hard to talk. After these 3 rounds, the recruiters ghosted me.

Behavioral

This has to be one of the most bizarre and unprofessional experiences I've had. The conversation during my phone screening was seemingly going well. The interviewer, towards the end of the call, was asking for my availability and mentioned she was going to move quickly. Then, as I was talking, the call got disconnected, or so I thought. I immediately called back the phone number, but no one answered, so I left a voicemail. I followed up with a "thank you" email, expecting at least some acknowledgment about the call being dropped, but instead I got silence. I've just received a generic email saying I've not been selected.

Technical Coding Behavioral Presentation

The hiring process usually involves a few steps: first, they look at your application, then there's a phone or video chat, followed by some technical tests and behavioral questions. Sometimes you'll also have interviews with managers or leaders. They want to see if you have the right skills, can solve problems, if you'd fit in with the team, and if you align with what the company believes in. You might have to do coding exercises, design system questions, or answer questions about situations or your behavior. Basically, they're trying to figure out if you're a good match for the job and the company overall, and then they'll decide if they want to offer you the position.
