It was so long ago - it was in person. They needed someone fast and although it was rushed, I stayed for years.

There were 5 interviews in total. They were pleasant but grueling. After my last interview, I was told I would be given a few assessments to take to move on to the next phase. Unfortunately, I was never sent the assessments and when I tried to reach out all I got was silence. I tried to reach out a final time to check up on my interviewing status but again I was completely ghosted. It's demoralizing to express enthusiasm and telling a candidate that they are a great fit but to only ghost them. Please just be professional and candid with your future candidates. People are looking for work and not someone to waste their time.

I had a Skype call with the hiring manager that was about 30 minutes and seemed to go well. Then I was supposed to have a second interview where I'd do an assessment, but things got messed up. The secretary rescheduled my assessment for two weeks out because the manager was on medical leave and she accidentally scheduled my next Skype call with the director in a different virtual room. I waited for an hour, but no one showed up. The director's schedule was too packed to reschedule, so I was told to call back in two weeks when the manager returned. I called three times over different days, but they kept saying he wasn't back yet. After a month, I emailed to ask about the process and got a rejection the next day, never even getting to do the second Skype or the assessment. It was really disorganized.

The recruiter reached out to me, and I sent over my resume. They then had me do an assignment, which I completed. I think they liked it. After that, all the applicants had to do a writing task for free with a tight deadline. I wasn't sure if my paid assignment work was good, and I wasn't happy about working for free. Next, I had an in-person meeting with the boss. It was mostly to see if we'd get along. I showed him some samples, and he liked them. Near the end, I asked if I could do my sales pitch since I hadn't really sold myself, but he said he had enough information. I got an offer by email a week or two later.
