I had an interview for an internship in the internal communications department. First, I met with the Director of Communications, which went very well. Then, I had a second interview with HR, which I thought went okay. I sent her an email after the interview with the information she wanted, thanking her for having me and confirming my interest in the position. She assured me she would give me an answer within the week. No response. I followed up. No response. Even 6 months later, I followed up to find out what went wrong with my application (I had found another job). No response. Huge lack of respect from this HR person, I've never seen anything like it.

The interview experience with Chanel was quite smooth overall. It started in Japanese, but we switched to English, which was nice. The interviewer was flexible, open, and really engaged. They gave a quick company overview and then focused on my interests, especially in jewelry and watches, which was very accommodating. The job posting mentioned a 4-6 month hybrid role that seemed perfect for me as a student studying abroad. However, it wasn't until near the end that I found out it was actually an on-site position and specifically for students based in Japan that year. It would have been better to know this earlier, maybe in an email or at the start. Despite that little mix-up, the interview was informative and a good learning experience. I was encouraged to keep in touch and try again next summer.
