First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CH2M.
Environmental Engineer
The interview started with a phone call where they mostly just looked at my resume. After that, I spoke with three different people on the team. Each of them told me about a project they were working on and that I might be assigned to. It felt pretty laid back and simple, like I was having the same conversation three times with different folks. They didn't ask any technical stuff.
- Could you go over your resume with me?
- Please describe the project you would be working on.
Civil Engineer
I applied online in January. A phone interview happened in March where they reviewed my application and asked about my preferred work location and department. The final interview was in April, which involved a technical presentation on a topic of my choice, followed by a one-hour interview with the head of the Highways Department, which also included about 20 minutes of technical questions.
- Can you tell me about a time you missed a deadline?
- Describe an instance of failure you experienced.
- Tell me about a time you needed to ask for help.
Structural Engineer
After applying, I heard back in about 10 days. The whole process involved three interviews, a background check, and then an offer. The first interview was a phone call where we went over my resume. Then there was a background check. After that, I had a second phone interview with the head of the department. The third interview was in person, initially one-on-one, then two-on-one. They let me know about the offer five days after the final interview. The day after that, I had a UA.
- What makes you qualified to work at this company and stand out from other candidates?
