First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CeX Webuy Entertainment.
Sales Assistant
So I interviewed with CeX in Dover and it was a really bad experience. I got there early, like 15 minutes early, but then they told me the interview was at a Costa nearby. They never told me this before, and I didn't have a number for them, so it was hard to find them and I was stressed when I got there. The interview was in a super busy and loud coffee shop, so it was hard to hear and focus. They started asking questions right away, no time to chill, and it was super fast, only a few minutes. They didn't seem to care much and didn't write anything down. It was just messy and not professional. It was tough for me because I need clear instructions and a calmer space (due to neurodivergency). They should really get better at telling people where to go, maybe in a quieter place so everyone can access it and feel included. Also, give people a minute to settle and make the interview more organized and interesting.
- Can you introduce yourself and walk me through your past work experience?
- What unique value do you think you can contribute to this position?
- Could you please share your availability for this role?
Sales Assistant
Interviewed on a Friday afternoon, where it was more of a Q&A session than a discussion. Was promised a call or email on Monday with a decision. Sent follow-up emails with no response. Went in person a week later to find out the hiring process had concluded, and the interviewer was no longer employed there. Was told the interviewer shouldn't have promised contact and that only the successful candidate would be notified. The interviewer was dismissive about providing an update.
- Imagine being stranded on a desert island with basic needs met; what three objects would you bring?
Sales Assistant
It wasn't a very technical interview, it was much more focused on the personal side of things. The main questions were about your previous work/education experience, what you know about cex history, and a question about which superhero you'd be and why.
- If you could be any superhero, who would it be and why?
- Tell me about your work and education experience.
- What do you know about cex's history?
