I was first contacted by an internal recruiter at centrica after applying. They seemed to just read from a script and felt really robotic, not that impressive. Then, I had a Teams call scheduled with 2 senior managers. When we started the call, one of them was eating a sandwich and kept doing it throughout most of the call. The other manager hadn't prepped his laptop properly, so he kept crashing and rejoining because his battery was low. I expected more professionalism, and honestly, this experience made me lose interest in the role and the company.

The process started online with my CV, a supporting statement, and a timed numerical/verbal reasoning test. Then there was an assessment centre which involved a CBI, a group exercise, and a presentation. The whole thing was a full day and I actually missed another interview because I wasn't expecting it to last for 6 hours!

The interviewer asked some rehearsed questions, and although they were nice, they weren't very clear about the specifics of the role. We had a good discussion about the interviewer's experience and their previous roles before joining the company. After the interview, I don't feel a strong connection to the company.
